PE Across the School

At Mile Oak, your child will receive two hours of high-quality curriculum PE every week. There is a wide range of sporting activities offered, from invasion games such as basketball, to more creative arts such as dance or gymnastics. If you would like to see the sports taught, please click on the PE Overview below.

Every child in our school should be active for at least one hour a day. Alongside PE lessons, Mile Oak aims to meet this target by providing an excellent breadth of activities during break and lunch times on the playground. Adult-led games are plentiful during this time and we now have over fifteen sports leaders leading games to keep the children active for as long as possible. Our school also has a Daily Mile running track on our amazing outside space for children to use at lunchtimes and during lesson time to further increase their physical activity levels.

Extra-curricular activities are also a priority for our school so that our children can be active outside of the school day. A plethora of sports are offered, which include multi-sports, football, cricket and breakfast active clubs

Cycling at Mile Oak

One of the most exciting areas of Mile Oak is the fleet of bikes that the school owns. We have over 60 bikes at school, which we use for curriculum PE lessons and as part of an after-school club.

Being able to ride a bike is an important aspect of healthy living and a very popular mode of transport in Brighton and Hove and we are really excited to give the children at Mile Oak the opportunity to build on their bike riding skills whilst at school.
