Reading

Children at Mile Oak are shown that reading broadens their horizons, takes them to new places and allows them to experience the impossible. They will develop new ways of seeing, hearing and understanding the diverse and changing world they live in.
From their very first days at Mile Oak, children are immersed in a rich, varied and exciting reading curriculum and families are welcomed into our reading community. We especially celebrate those eureka moments when children see themselves as readers for the very first time and set off on their reading journey.
